This is a 10A solar charge controller/regulator designed for 12V batteries and solar panels with a capacity of up to 160W. It features various safety protection functions such as protection against reverse current at night (from the battery back through the solar panel), overcharge/discharge, overvoltage, overload, and short circuit. The controller utilizes PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) technology to enhance charge acceptance and extend the life of the battery. Additionally, PWM technology can help recover some lost battery capacity.
Key features: This advanced 10A 12V solar charge controller includes a 5V USB port with 1.2A output for fast charging of USB compatible devices (e.g., mobile phones, tablets, mp3 players, etc.). It also has a pair of load terminals for connecting 12V loads, such as lights, if desired. Bright LED indicators show the battery state of charge, as well as the status of the solar panel and 12V load. Additionally, there is an "on/off" button available for the load.
Compatibility: This controller is designed for use with solar panels with a total capacity of up to 160W. For optimal charging of a 12V battery, it is recommended that the controller takes input from solar panels with a maximum power voltage of 17-20V (e.g., 80W-160W Photonic Universe solar panels).
If your solar panel voltage exceeds 25V, we recommend using one of our MPPT solar charge controllers for maximum efficiency when charging 12V batteries. This controller is compatible with sealed, gel, and flooded batteries, and the user can select the battery type.
